When We Are Weak

I am a planner.  I am a control freak.  I have absolutely no power over anything in this adoption process.  In actuality, I have no power over anything going on in my life right now.  This has been hard, hard, hard to deal with.

But you know what?  God gave me a husband who knows how to encourage me in my faith.  He sent me a text on his way to work that he was listening to this sermon, and he thought maybe I would listen along with him.  What a timely message for us!  No wonder we are feeling every anxiety and care of the world crashing around our shoulders.  God has called us to adopt a little precious soul, not only into our family, but into his covenant family as well.  How hard will Satan fight against that miracle?  He wants her for his own, but our daughter has been set apart for God’s kingdom and His purpose.  Too bad for the enemy, this verse is a promise from our God, “Fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God; I will help you, I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).  He is faithful to complete this work of adoption.  He is faithful!

Then when I went for a little exercise this morning, this song was playing on my ipod.

He is not only faithful to finish what He started, He even gives us the faith to believe his promises.
Whatever you’re struggling with today, friends, be encouraged.  The Lord your God is with you.  He will not forsake you.  And He is faithful!
